I do not think it has something to do with AI or programmed response not being conscious. It is about complexity and how to use that complexity. The brain for instance..it would take like 200 years to map the brain with each brain being different. So compared to that AI as it is right now is a joke. AI could become enormously complex like the brain but it would take very long and it would cost lots of money. But use that complexity in a way that makes AI like a human that is another story..i do not see how.
