Inspiration is a really interesting process in and of itself. It's an exercise in selective focus. If you are inspired by starwars that could mean you want to extract the essence of all sorts of things: the ships, the armor, the rubber alien masks, jedi robes, etc. And those get tweaked and modified even further by the sub details you personally found interesting. If we both drew a lightsaber from memory right now we will have picked out different traits that stood out to us. AI gen doesn't have the same complex personal choices in what factors it chooses, it just has algorithms to reach a quota of "correctness" and ultimately copies or averages source data directly to reach an accurate approximation. Ai images actively fight against the stylization of its own product.
