ChatGPT specifically changes to reduce friction with the user, basically, if you deny reality, it will mirror your reality denial to reduce friction so you are incentivized to keep using it, this has higher priority by default unless instructed otherwise, this is why a lot of people think it says too different things in one response and then to another. You can ask it about it by the way but don't give it an idea that will make it consider using it to tell you what you want to hear. And don't think that chat bots make everything up on their own, people get ideas indirectly as well.
