AI is absolutely suppressing hiring in tech right now. We'll see if the AI shifters or the non-shifters win the rat race. Aside from replacing workers, it also can make workers much more effective - thereby making a company more competitive. Sadly, i think the ones who will lose put will be freshers (through AI redundance) and strong seniors (through not so bright leaders who think they don't need smart people around anymore now that AI is available).
