I used to work at a call centre for a shitty internet company in Canada. my manager got a promotion and transferred to the IT services department. When I moved away and left I saw that she had a baby, I messaged her to say congratulations and that I hope she enjoys her mat leave ( we get around 1 year paid at a certain % of our full wages in Canada) she told me that she was actually on unemployment insurance because before she had her baby they cut her entire department and replaced them with AI. They made her entire department " help train" the AI. apparently it made mistakes that even I wouldn't and I was a customer service rep for like 1 year
