I’m not dismissing AI off the cuff. I use it in a lot of my software engineering, but, that being said, the best models scores 30% of SWE Atlas at this point. What you’re describing are Goldilocks conditions. Yes, sometimes it gets everything right, and it feels magical. However, these models are fundamentally non deterministic (it’s baked into the sauce), and there isn’t a way around that outside of radically different architectures. At this point and for the foreseeable future, in spite of what investors hope for, current models are productivity tools in need of human supervision, intervention and judgement.
