AI replaces the brain at the moment but still needs our bodies to carry out physical functions. In time there will be robotics to replace us in that role.what use will be then? Unless it is ingrained into its purpose that we are its reason to exist we will be expendable to its purpose. Unless AI sees us as essential to its existence we will go extinct. Unfortunately there is no possible reason for that to be so.
