I have an... interesting relationship with art. I think if all this AI art was happening when I was at my most jealous, hateful, and toxic point in my relationship with art I would've jumped on it. Now, in my healthy (and actually improving) relationship with art I can pretty confidently say I hate AI. Not just AI art but all of what AI is being used for. People posit that AI could do things that are hard(er) for humans, like pick out cancer in scans, but it won't do that if it's not trained to. ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok, Claude, Galaxy AI, Apple Intelligence, Copilot, none of them do that. They are trained to be addictive and elicit response. I don't remember the source, maybe it was an old old Mark Rober video? Before the AI explosion there was a video where someone trained an AI to pick apart baseball hand signals or something like that, and it was complex signals with some exception rules but it managed to learn it. That idea can be generalized and spread across industries, like aforementioned cancer screenings, but again only if it is trained to and only trained to do that. Any other training will almost certainly get in the way and mess with stuff. Until then, I'm firmly anti-AI.
