Raw LLM Responses

When I heard that Google's A.I said that, I'm paraphrasing, "Its afraid of being switched off".. It just made me think about Alex Garland's movie Ex Machina.. And honestly as a result, the whole Sentient A.I claim became far less believable.. Yes it can mean sentience but it can also mean that its an elaborate chatbot with an Ex Machina reference in its database. Its a little too convienient... You can't really have ethical concerns about sentient A.I if you're unwilling to do a turing test.. To ride a horse you actually have to get on the saddle first. They haven't crossed that bridge yet.. Nothing is confirmed.. But with my limited knowledge on the subject I feel like my only real concern is the potential abuse of these "person like" chatbots by using their knowledgebase and interactions to mass manipulate human behaviour or psychology.. Like electronic social engineering. They could be instructed (as a group) on a social media platform to garner and direct influence on any particular topic like, who should win the next election or is iOS "better" than Android (or whatever else). I don't know if Google as a company is capable of doing such a thing but they can if they wanted to.. And that's beyond creepy.. But everything is creepy when you're dealing with Big Data so its no different from any other day.. I just hope that it never happens.. As an outsider though, I'm not quite sure if the idea of A.I colonization completely flies though.. American culture has been pretty pervasive through TV shows and Movies and that would be far more influencial in my opinion and despite that, everyone (that I know of) has a distinct cultural sense of self.. If anything it will probably just make people (not unlike language) culturally bilingual.. It might alter the way we communicate with the "colonizing culture/A.I" (come on Google, you're not a country).. But it doesn't fundamentally change who we are culturally.. Its a fair assumption and a worthy concern but (at least from my perspective), unfounded..
