What a dumb take dude! AI image gen is a LOT like a camera, where you point and click, and the camera does all the work of creating the image. The art of the camera is in deciding what to point the camera at, how to light it, etc. Just as the art in image gen is deciding what to generate and how it should look, how should the lighting be, how should the scene composition be; then iterating on the process using more advanced tools like generative infill to adjust small portions of the image, or relighting tools to get the lighting just so, etc. It is frankly absurd to say its not art and your argument boils down to the exact same arguments used to say photography isn't an art back when the camera came about.
Yes, any shmuck can make decent looking but rather generic AI SLOP. But it does actually take a real artist with some skill and a firm grasp of the tools, to create good AI art.
