Speaking as an artist, let's be responsible about this now: - no artist is gonna be replaced, AI is gonna be a tool for speeding up parts of the creative process in a bunch of industries, just like digital art did when it first came out, and nowadays it is a must have in a bunch of amazing creations (i.e. Spiderman into the spider verse - go check out their behind the scenes and see what digital evolution plus amazing artists brought us) - This actually is gonna help A LOT, specially for people that couldn't afford an artist for sketches, ideation and so on already, democratizing the access to "custom" art, so this is gonna create new businesses (which might need artists for more complex stuff, thus generating more jobs) - it's not stealing, nothing just "appears" out of nowhere from the "magical wonderland of imagination", we (humans) learn from inputs like nature, other artists and basically everything on the internet and the real world, and then we study and try to figure out how light works and so on and start replicating it. Just like AI does. It needs sources to learn so it can create, and it's creations can be used as inspiration for others (including human artists like me. I found some fucking awesome ideas from AI generated art). At the end of the day it's all a cycle and we don't fucking need to pay for everything (at least I never paid for Da Vinci's amazing creations, and that's not a problem) It's just evolution. The quicker we start embracing it, the sooner we open doors for amazing creations and tools that are gonna advance what we can do currently - tools that are gonna in fact help artists and create jobs that don't exist currently. It's always like this - People fight evolution and 20 years later no one can imagine their lives without it.
