I got a couple of my best developers to evaluate AI code generation and they found what got produced was shockingly bad, full of errors, bizarre decisions and overall was kind of unmaintainable slop, and these guys actually understand how the AI works and are pretty good at prompting and were using the latest commercial models. At that point we all concluded that AI is a bubble and is essentially only surviving on hype at the moment.
