Its perfectly reasonable that artists and animators are upset with companies using AI instead of hiring them. Its lazy and it usually looks off at best and down right gross at worst...
What I find a little silly is the people screaming AI art is theft. You put your art out there in the world, its gone. Hell some of the biggest sites people upload their art to have clauses in their terms of use that stipulate you no longer have sole comercial rights to your art anymore. Fair use, in my opinion, extends to the use of publicly avilable assests to train AI.
Should we revisit what is legal to put in these ToS? Probably. Should we reevaluate what our priorities are and rethink where we put our outrage? Probably. Should we publicly shame and harass people that post AI art? Probably not.
I mean yall all listen to Spotify and Pandora and that is just straight up theft and extortion!
