to be fair, we did do the same thing we fear AI will do. we did it to animals, and disrupted their natural ecosystem on this planet. we tossed aside the animals and destroyed their homes on this planet for the sake of our "developement of modern day society", just cause we are smarter than them. we could have built a better world where all of us thrive with animals in a safe ecosystem, but we didn't.
and humanity's collective obsession with our own curiosity and intelligence is what's coming back to hit us hard, as we have finally created something that can outdo every single one of us in memory, calculation and intelligence. a massive "karma's a b*tch" moment. with a few humans in power over AI who hate the rest of humanity, with AI that has more intellectual capability, and obviously more physical capability, than we do, those humans will use AI to toss us aside to be no different than the animals.
