It'd be one thing if AI art generators were only using stock images and others such that are copyright-free, but just using any artist's work is not ok. I reference other works for my art a lot. But I make a point about being transparent about my inspirations. AI art doesn't even do that, it just takes whatever it can find, and people don't care where it came from or how, like getting something from a back-alley dealer.
