Just because it was referenced:
The Luddites were more appropriately described as a labour rather than technophobic movement. They were textiles workers who had seen automation improve their production multiple times over, and yet their wages were not increasing to go with it, instead the factory and machine owners were vastly increasing their profits.
In a certain sense the Luddite description is appropriate, we are the textile workers being screwed out of wages by factory and machine owners, we should be taking inspiration from the Luddites and building labour solidarity in opposition to AI. Join a union!
