I've played D&D and dm'ed games for my friends for years. One of my greatest shames was using AI early into it's widespread release for just a few small ideas for my campaign. The result was the entire thing felt tainted to me, like I was no longer welcoming my friends into my world, but a world hallucinated by a great collective of stolen works. I ended up starting over with a whole new setting.
If there is any artist out there using or considering using AI, please know that art isn't just for other people. It's also an outlet for you. You matter and your ideas matter, even if you don't have the skill to execute them at the level of AI. Someone out there will appreciate it anyways, and trust me, you will feel much more pride and fulfillment expressing yourself instead of expressing AI.
