This fact isn't emphasized enough: the AI is pulling from biased, and I repeat, biased, data sets the only reason AIs show any discrimination is because it is learning from the discrimination that exists in our current human made systems. Ai decisions are indicitive of real issues that already exist within our decision making processes.
The way to fix such issues is to fix the human systems before we can expect AI's to produce unbiased decisions.
