I’ve been creating art for over 30 years, I wanted to be a professional artist working in character design for TV, film, theatre, or games – it unfortunately became abundantly apparent that talent and skill are not what’s important in life, being able to bullshit through an interview is, as such I never made it as an artist and move rocks for a living. I’m also far too slow: It takes me around 40 hours to create a finished design from start to finish, in the same amount of time I can generate 2000 passable images and a countless number of slop images that the general public think are acceptable regardless. What’s the point? It’s depressing, but life is depressing – after spending hours moving the aforementioned rocks you think I have energy and time to spend 40 hours on a design just for a corporation to steal and slap on a T-Shirt then copyright strike ME (something that has happened seven times now, way before AI was even a thing… I love how my artwork is good enough to steal but not good enough to employ me), or to upload it only for people (including other artists) to hate and tell me they passed it around the office for everyone to laugh at, and call me entitled? Fuck that, I’m perfectly content generating AI images for fun, life is a joke anyway.
