As someone who's transitioning, begrudgingly, to vibe coding to stay relevant, this is an accurate and based take on the situation. That said, most or all of the concerns you have can be solved by having the AI create planning documents that you then review and correct first. Just like for a junior developer, if you plan out what the AI is going to do ahead of time, it will do a better job. Unlike a junior dev, the AI won't learn from its mistakes. You will have to ensure it doesn't make the same mistakes over and over. If you build a process that accounts for that, and there are many ways to do this now and I am sure there will be more in the future, you can achieve incredible speed enhancements over coding traditionally and still have good code quality. It is a skillset like any other. There will be good and bad vibe coders. Junior and senior ones. God help us all.
