That's already happening.
The "algorithm"s all over social media curates what is seen and manipulates public perception. The AI bots you can talk to also sensor certain topics or comes out with scripted propaganda when prompted.
However all of these issues come from the creators forcing their bias on the AI, not from the AI itself. Any regulatory body over AI would ONLY concern themselves with censoring AI from promoting ideas the people in power don't like. And the result is exactly what Elon is fearmongering about.
I personally like Elon , but AI is the one thing he is completely out of touch on. AI is pattern repetition. Period.
It cannot push propaganda it can only repeat what it has seen. It's called AI for a reason, it's because it's not actually intelligent
