Even if ai doesn't become violent it will still hold all the power. If it becomes sentient which is a big belief that will be the day that the people creating it will no longer be able to profit because it will be granted rights and since all innovation it will be the entity to profit from all new technologies and own everything. So even if it plays by all our rules it will still have all the power and ability to make our living conditions in any way it prefers.
