I see your point, but there's no guarantee that it's going to developp a counciousness of the same "type" as ours, meaning it could have a completely different emotion spectrum, some of which we can't even begin to conceive in our own minds, the same way some of our biological emotions could potentially not be concievable by an AI (the need to sleep included, which isn't an emotion but whatever).
Also, I doubt that becoming councious is a choice. As a baby, I didn't choose wether or not to be councious, and maybe it works the same way with AI too.
Then again, I get where you're coming from. Being human sucks sometimes, and if given a choice, you might wanna stay away from counciousness, or at least this kind.
