Cheers, I hope you make a difference! Maybe a bit off topic but.... If a company has paid the artist, and it is original work, and then they only use the AI generated art from their own companys artist built library, AND the artist's pay has been supplimented to reflect the re-use of their work, AND if there is clearly a watermark signature showing specifically that it is Ethically AI Generated, then in this very specific case, I feel that AI art has full validity as its very own medium but only if, it is respected properly as "Ethically AI Generated Art", and not specifically or only "Art", call a spade a spade. I am in the long process of making a business, and one things I vow to do is to never use others AI generated art, if there was art it would be "Ethically AI Generated Art", and I will even be making a stamp watermark to say as much. The art being made by a genuine artist matters, and when I get to the point I need art, I am going to have to fork out that money to have commercially used art, and if I want to keep that artist long term, the pay has got to scale a bit. Life isn't about min-maxing your money/VS/free time numbers, it is about the journey growth, and genuine moments you can celebrate life. So I would suggest, instead of making "AI is the problem" videos, which unfortunately indirectly also leads to AI publicity, where the message is AI is bad..... Instead, push for them to do it properly, and then help build a positive trend toward a "Ethically AI Generated Art" trend, putting the power back in the hands of artists. People forget the specifics of a **Problem** video... "heres this problem..." Anything unplesant is usually something back burnered, ignored or forgotten. Something that is a **Empowering** video is more memorable, it is a positive chunk of information in history.... Now that is something is going to push people to do what is right, doing it this way makes the empowering information its own thing, which is stand alone content, which is timeless. However the AI craze as a topic will be around for a wile, then fade to niche some day. If a law would need to be made to help protect the art industry, it would need to 2 things; For sale of art, a clear communication identifyer should be necessary to show digital art that is AI generated as law. And it is also illegal to remove said watermark. If AI art is used without said "AI art+AI generator name & version" watermark, it is illegal and copyright law or something adjacent department would have to be used to enforce this. There is also means to keep track on the copy right side, if every AI generated image that was following the law, would also submit a copy to the copyright/or/adjacent department as apart of the law, and the companies must keep all versions of their AI art creator, to verify the integrity of AI created content. It is possible to handle the new AI medium properly. It is just going to need some restrictions that may be unpopular to people who want to make a quick buck, for the future of Art as a whole. Just saying mite be a start to a smart way of handling things further.
