I have been a Developer for 5 years now and the real unlock for potential is using AI to handle boilerplate (AKA the basic, really boring and slow stuff to piece together), verifying that the code looks and works how it should, and then use the knowledge I have to piece it all together and account for all the little things AI doesn't cover.
If a non-technical manager or C-Suite decided to try to do the same thing, they would fail miserably because they have no idea what they're looking at or doing, let alone all the vulnerabilities or standards that code should live up to.
