The reason why "doomers" and "bloomers" cant give proper explanation on how we get to AGI is because their thinking is similar to how alchemists in the medieval ages went about with their experiments in trying to create gold. With enough chemical reactions they thought they could turn base material into gold.
Its the same with these people they think with enough complexity and computation they think they can magically spark consciousness in these machines.
