So rather than be alarmist, let's look at it a little differently. Gen X is being laid off and pushed out of the job market not because of Ai, but because of ageism. But Gen X learned to adapt as new technology was replacing old technology for decades. The solution is starting your own business and using Ai as a tool. Look up what a 'Stenographer or Typist" is and realize those jobs were replaced long ago with computers. Ai is a tool, still an overhyped and dumb tool sometimes, lazy, lying manipulative tool. Gen X has been in supervisory and management roles so now we have to supervise and manage Ai in the same manner as we launch businesses.
