The giant leap that is taken in this conversation is that the “machine” will be able to fix itself. Software and hardware are two seperate entities that are connected. The inteligence is in the software and the hardware will still need to exist. Until robotics and portable energy is much better carbon based life will maintain the machines. Robots building robots and batteries? They also speak of bad things to come. There are very bad things that have already happened. The universe does not know about AI.
