Our complacence in believing it's safe and also our inherent distaste in looking afraid of something because it sounds like a fictional story is going to be our doomsday lmao 😭
I think everyone I've talked to (coworkers, friends, family) are all too keen that AI isn't going to develop like that, and some admitted they're afraid of looking like the boy cried wolf. Like "we saw it in fiction, there's no way it's gonna be real. Stop being a scifi nerd" 😆😭
