The difference between standard abstractions like game engines and AI is that game engines are actually a tool. They still require expertise and knowledge to work, and you can dive deeper and replace parts you don’t need or want according to your ability. AI is a black box that removes all aspects of intention and skill behind it, leaving you prodding in the dark until it spits out what you want. AI can be used as a tool and it should (I do) but the future ai companies want removes the human aspect from deeply human things like art
