The way I see it is:
If I go ask an artist friend to draw something for me and I describe what I want, I am not the artist. They are. they did the work, not me. I did the bare minimum conveying the idea I had.
If I type a bunch of words into a window, The people that made the art that the AI software is coping are the artists. I am still not an artist because I typed in some words.
