As a professional driver (trucks); yes it is, theoretically possible to have self driving trucks_ the technology already exists. However, unloading the trucks with robots into buildings that are not purpose built to accommodate automated systems would be extremely difficult. In city centres for example. Of which there are many, old and (often) beautiful cities around the world, with narrow streets, hills, ramps etc. It would require either that entire cities undergo a massive overhaul (at huge expense) or levelled entirely and rebuilt to purpose, so no actual stores exist, everything comes from centralised distribution warehouses and is delivered directly to peoples homes. And yes this part already exists too- home deliver of food, clothing etc. Online shopping. BUT if the sole purpose of business is profit then humans still need and income to pay for goods, food etc. Unless of course the entire human race gets wiped out. But then there will be no need to have AI (unless we´re then talking about the world of the Matrix) There is of course an easy way to avoid all this. Stop using anything that uses AI. Buy groceries from stores with real people, and real check out workers. Stop buying goods online. Stop using social media and reconnect with the real world and real friends, family and people. Because if we all just stopped using this crap then the companies that produce and use them would go bankrupt and we would have no need for their existence.
