I use AI ASSISTED content on my channel. I'm for AI as a tool. I personally sing my lyrics with my own voice, and I compose the melodies myself. AI just mixes it together for me, and it's not an easy process. What you get is random, needs fine tuning, etc. For this man, he believes the art form is simply generating content from prompts. Which is tricky if you're going for something in particular. AI for images is NOT good at giving you what you want. It also does all the work. Did the man plan out what he wanted to make? How was the process? After the image was spit out, did he add to it? Modify it? AI generation is fun, but trying to sell and copyright something because a machine made it ENTIRELY for you... Way different. Its all about the creative process. With me, I ACTUALLY sing the lyrics. I ACTUALLY write the lyrics. I actually give it a melody. Then I pop it into something like Suno, and it makes what I wanted sound different, cool effects, styles. For example "Moleday (Gonna buy me a cat) is a real song my old friend from school and I made in our crappy band as teens. I composed the melody on the fly on my actual real life keyboard (RIP. He was a member of our band and got lost in a move) and played it. She sang the lyrics. I uploaded our piece into AI, it made it really cool. Done. My personal rule with AI is this: - Make the art first. - Enhance with a computer. - DO NOT LET THE AI DO EVERYTHING. (IE. typing a prompt. It spits out a thing.) AI art is a field of it's own. I think it'll birth as an art form eventually, but I'm more so interested in the words and prompts that create the piece, AS THE ART. This man is claiming that generating AI art and the result is what he wants copyrighted and IS the art. But where's the process to HOW he made that image? What inspired him? Did he mean for the image to look like that, or did he just type in "big window church setting oil painting women Victorian" or whatever and then get... This? That's the core of the discussion about AI art.
