Amazon employee here. AI at Amazon, irrespective of all the hype, is NOT positioned and mature enough to replace humans; it does VERY little. Amazon over hires and mismanages internally, hence it can lay people off in the thousands. It has nothing to do with its AI capabilities. It is all fume and posturing close to year end, affecting shareholder value and stock prices.
