AI doesn’t have to eliminate jobs. It just has to reduce jobs. If a work (software) required 5 people earlier, now with Github copilot and Bing chat/copilot etc the same work can be done by 3 people. If a work (hardware) required 5 persons, now with robots and machines it’s possible to do it with 3 people.
Now new jobs will be created to maintain AI algorithms, robots, etc but these are few high skilled jobs at the cost of many low and medium skilled jobs. No matter how much money we throw at it, not everyone will have the high skills. So the medium skilled people are the ones who are affected because a few can rise to the challenge of acquiring high skills but many will have to take low skilled jobs partly because they were not able to raise to the challenge and partly because even if they do there are not that many high skilled people needed as jobs are less
