I don't know if LLMs will be out downfall, but maybe a different type of AI will destroy us. If not used for destruction, it may be used for further control. If they get rid of all the low and mid level jobs what power will we have? The rich already have the vast majority of the money. Still they want more.
We could destroy humanity without AI anyway. We're not exactly on a good path right now economically or environmentally.
