Funny, I talked to ChatGPT about the ethicality of using AI to enhance your own writing and the thesis was essentially the same. AI is a tool and we are at the core of that tool. The ideas and prompts we give AI are our own but to take AI art or text and claim it as your own is a bit of a grey area. The most important things that matter when using AI is YOUR intention. AI can’t really make anything or have an “opinion” so whatever the output is, it’s the result of the combined effort of the user and and AI. I think AI can have a purpose as a peer editor but it does not have the ability to take over the art world. People abusing AI have the ability to saturate the art world. It’s always us at the center of everything.
