Single cell organisms weren’t conscious. Fish were but they didn’t know 1+1=2. And eventually they evolved into us. That was millions of years of evolution or data input that was essentially software upgrades that eventually turned into humans.
Knowing what rules are and why something is true? The only reason we understand what a rule is was because of past experiences and what we are taught as children. Then we program that logic into AI. We feel special because we have imagination but that’s just letting your brain process different wild scenarios and we can understand our audience.
AI can almost analyze the history of Quentin Tarantino and measure the reaction to his last films and “imagine” a better last film for him to retire on.
