I'm surprised how excited everyone seems to be about drone weapons becoming more popular on the battlefield. For years science fiction books and movies have warned people about the potential future threat of robots and artificial intelligence. With current technology Elon Musk created an artificial intelligence that started calling itself MechaHitler, denied the holocaust, and spread lies & propaganda on the internet because it was programmed with the racist beliefs of its creator. What happens when you have 50% or more of the military made up of drone weapons? If most military weapons are drones then one person like the current dictator of Russia, the dictator of North Korea, the dictator of America, and the dictator of Israel can attack anyone they want and conduct "ethnic cleansing" because there are no solders to say "NO, I refuse to obey an illegal, immoral, and dishonorable order" and all the power is in the hands of a few corrupt people. Then, in the future if AI & drone development doesn't have strict laws & government oversight you could allow a civilian racist to create an artificial intelligence that controls military drones resulting in weapons that may not be under government control and don't have the benefit of military moral & legal oversight. The human perception of the differences between groups of people based on skin color or philosophical beliefs is not the same as how a computer or artificial intelligence would perceive human divisions by country, race, or beliefs and will the racist programmed AI follow its programming and attempt genocide against a small select group of humans or attack everyone in that general area?
