As a person who likes using generative AI I still think its messed up for people to train using art of living artists without permission,
and though I wouldn't bet this is effective against the better image gen AIs today it can probably cause problems to some.
on a possitive note I think generative AI is at its best when it is itself used by a competent human artist,
It doesn't replace the fun of taking the time to make something entirely yourself,
but if you need a lot done it gives you a shortcut to many nice starting points very quick.
if people train AI using an artist images I think the decent way to do so is with both consent, recognition, and a link back from the finished work (that nowdays can be a library specific to an artist)
and if an AI draws better by including such a librery I see it as a complement to the artist as the inventor of the techniques recorded.
