My husband works in AI - one of those savant types whose brain can do radical things even his bosses have trouble following. He has no fear about his job prospects going away, especially with having to fight off poachers with a stick. EVEN SO, we moved to the upper Rockies, limited our reliance on banks or services, are working on growing/raising our own food, heat our house with wood, do all our own housework, homeschool our kids, etc. He knows his skills will continue to be valued, but he does not trust the stability of modern society. And I think he’s right. With three kids under 5, we can’t take the chance.
