My perspective on this is probably more unique in the sense that I think AI will evolve into a new art form at some point, not only because it's impossible to fight tech advancements, but because the art itself is just not that good, and the people trying to pass it as the end product are indeed making a fool of themselves. However, I think the resistance from the art community will probably be beneficial for both as AI finds what it's actually supposed to be and artists find how they fit into that design. Soon enough, you'll probably have a marketplace where you can sell models based on your own style that can be used in this new medium, but the goal would not be to recreate the art, but to interact with it. Think of it as Steam for art models and we are living in an environment rife with piracy. We just need a visionary that can shape this new art form into reality and open the doors to this new marketplace. *Wouldn't this kill art altogether?* No. If we look at the birth of cinema, there was the fear it would replace theater, but as cinematography evolved, they were clearly set apart, and it's likely that there are more theaters today than when cinema was invented (not due to cinema I should add). If cinema was just the reproduction of a theater play filmed once, then yes, it would probably have had a negative impact on theater, and it would be more comparable to how AI is being used today. *Do you expect artists to subjugate themselves to AI?* While you could ignore such development with that though process in mind, consider that when working as a concept artist, your work is rarely ever seen, so you're basically already subjugating yourself to another art form already. Yes, all the work on the development of a character or environment is part of the exploration, but your part in said process will still go under appreciated. TL;DR: AI might be trouble, but the future could be beneficial for artists. Also, good luck, I appreciate your art and lessons a lot and this is an uphill battle but with some creativity, I think the community can sort this out.
