Realizing that AI is not indeed inevitable has been a great awakening. We’re pushing it in education and I was on board because I’m like you’ll be left behind if you don’t. Then I thought, math didn’t collapse with calculators but people just got lazier doing it and need to learn not to rely on it or risk losing skills. And heck, calculators are way more accurate! Now I’m teaching how relying on AI can lead you to making the wrong conclusions and assumptions. It’s better that you’re a critical thinker that can use AI but also recognize when it’s misguiding you
