I'm an artist. From the most objective standpoint, AI is producing derivative yet unique results, which isn't that different from most artists on Art Station if we're being completely honest with ourselves. You also can't copyright a style, and AI like people can mix styles and ideas to create new styles. In art school you're taught to copy and learn from those before and to use references in your pieces. One thing AI lacks is my unique vision, my desires and my perspective. Now when I work I grab references as well as 2 AI generated references because I can get things much closer to what I'm going for. I also can run my final through AI to see what enhancements it would make and to decide if I should proceed with any similar techniques. Industries are shaken but I had already thought most art was mostly technical and fairly soulless anyways. I believe energy and soul can be conveyed through a humans inspiration. I am an artist and no level of technical ability or quantity produced by anyone or anything changes that. Now I just have another tool that I can use to my creative whim.
