I would let Midjourney, Stable Diffusion and others use the copyrighted material, but they cannot monetize it. For example, Midjourney is already letting you create couple of images for free, then it charges you to continue using it.
If you didn't pay artists whose work you've used anything, you are not going to earn anything from that.
