In the example of the hand-drawn face that was used as a reference there's so much of the AI image that wasn't even alluded to in the prompt or the drawing: the skin colour, the lighting direction, the weird additional lines and shapes. It's nonsensical for the "artist" to claim credit, and copyright, for the result. Let the prompt jockeys copyright their prompts, since that's the only part they actually authored. Alternatively, if you have a license for every piece of work that was used to train the model you used, go to town.
