Tbh, don't want to be mean, but I think this is an american problem. I don't see any other country where the poor are barely seen as human. So like, the same way so called third world countries got their hands on smartphones, AI technology will trinkle down to the poorest. They will still feel poor, but they will have everything taken care of. Or the way the gulf countries handles wealth, they already have a universal income. The only reason why you don't see arabs in top richest people lists is because they don't have privatized wealth, their wealth is spread across social institutes. If they had privatized wealth, elon musk wouldn't even be in the top 10 richest people. Since the US is the only country that reacts allergic to socialism, it will not survive the robot age. The US is also losing control over world power, the only thing they have left is to suck the blood out of europe. It will become a cold synthetic dystopian place, a dog eat dog world, kid shoot kid world. The facade of being the best country in the world will become grander and more obvious to the educated. It's already plummeting in that direction. The majority becoming homeless is the good ending. Most likely they will criminalise being poor and fill up the jail industry. It's a country built on slavery and genocide, it's hard to imagine that it won't end as such.
