Generative AIs are a waste of time and effort exactly for what you've mentioned. They hallucinate, people still require the expertise to know what's true or not, and even if we assume AI will get so good it will always give you the truth, then they become just an encyclopedia and you still have to do the work. Human effort will always be necessary, and what AI companies want is profit, not to improve people's life. In a year from now the most likely answer given when someone mentions AI is if they can remove it instead.
