How do you feel about Corridor Crew's AI anime Rock Paper Scissors? I think the problem is low effort AI content; people who just put in a prompt and then upload what AI spits out. If you actually write a story, generate 3d environments using AI for consistent locations, and then use AI to mocap your animations without a suit to apply to 3d models based on your own sketches it is possible to breach the uncanny valley and provide substance.
Over a decade ago animators were hired over seas and selling toys was really how the bottom dollar was made, as the animation itself STILL couldn't cover costs. It's just not sustainable to do frame by frame animations without a gigantic budget, especially when a vlogger could bring in the same views with no effort. But as an independent creator with AI you can bring your stories to life. You don't have to use that easily spottable AI artstyle with volumetric lighting and saturated colors (or studio ghibli's)
