Another question would be "If AI takes all of our jobs...how will we afford living?" As a programmer I am decently safe but even there wages are already way down.
On the "pay bonus lead to people earn less data", that totally makes sense. When you are poor your job is usually miserable. So you will try and balance having more money to spend with spending less time at the job. Which will also make you more healthy and being sick in the US is very expensive so it would likely save some money in the long run again. Very multdimensional when you dig into such topics.
